Opening of the new parliament of the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland
On 14 April 2017, the new parliament of the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland, designed by Bonell i Gil Arquitectes and Atelier Cube, opened its doors.
Our office took care of the lighting design for the main representative spaces of the Parliament. The plenary hall of the Grand Conseil is an impressively high space with pyramidal form that also receives natural light through its skylight. Here the challenge was hiding the lighting system, integrating it in the architecture and yet providing a highly performing system. System that had to be able to provide the required lighting levels and uniformity while enhancing the archetype and iconic volumes of the hall.
